Some of the numbers in charcoal boxes above tend to blur against light backgrounds; some of the numbers in white boxes become indistinct against dark backgrounds.
These numbers are the RGB numbers used in various HTML and CSS tags.
In the table below, the “formula” links popup a small window with explanation of the RGB code of each color and how to adjust it.  The color names with links (underlined) will go to a color chart with a range of colors and their RGB numbers.  Below the table and its explanation are links for “grayscales” of colors, good for background colors as well as those better for foreground (letters) colors.

In traditional artist’s terms, with red, yellow, and blue the primary colors, colors on the opposite side of the color wheel are complementary to each other, or opposites in plain speech.  However, in the computer world of hexidecimal RGB (Red Green Blue) colors, the opposites are not the same, because the primary colors are not the same.   For instance, traditionally blue and yellow make green.  In RGB, however, red and green make yellow, because green is one of the primaries, not yellow.  And half as much green as red makes orange.  Click on any of the linked colors above to see a chart of colors/hexidecimal RGB numbers of the color and its hexidecimal opposite.  The formula link opens a popup box with explanations of how to manipulate the formula of each color to achieve similar shades/tints/hues.

Your blog is really interesting to me and your subject matter is very relevant. I was browsing around and came across something you might find interesting. I was guilty of 3 of them with my sites. “99% of site managers are doing these 5 errors”. http://tinyurl.com/cvartfk You will be suprised how simple they are to fix.
